It was also in the same year that it was revealed that Tolman will have a guest appearance on The Mindy project in the role of Abby Berman who is a romance author. In 2015, her second role was in Michael Dougherty's film horror comedy Krampus. Tolman was a star who made a breakout performance in Fargo, declined the roles of mothers, wives and best friends in order to take on a role that was more distinctive. Tolman had a role on ABC as a character in Downward Dog (based on Animal Media Group's web-series). The series was cancelled after a single season. Tolman was a part of ABC's Emergence drama which premiered on the 24th of September, 2019, however it was canceled by ABC within a year, at the 21st of May in 2020 despite Tolman tweeting she thought the ratings were "pretty acceptable".
